Scientists have been sounding the alarm for decades, and despite many people becoming more responsible, the overall climate on the planet is changing for the worse at rocket speeds. There are many climate summits around the world that are open to all people. It is not enough to just participate in them, but also to take something from them and start educating your immediate surroundings.
The largest summits on climate change in the past
- Eco Summit 1996, Copenhagen, Denmark – back in the 1980s, scientists began to draw attention to ecological awareness. Over the decades, disciplines such as ecological modeling, ecological economics, ecological engineering, and biological conservation have developed rapidly. They were presented for the first time at this summit.
- Eco Summit 2000, Halifax, Canada – there has been more discussion about problems and possible solutions in the light of the new millennium.
- Eco Summit 2007, Beijing, China – as many people still did not understand the seriousness of the environmental problems, this summit also sought to explain this to the general masses. Solutions were also presented that would allow the general public to become actively involved.
- Eco Summit 2012, Columbus, Ohio, USA – solutions were presented on how to restore the ecosystem culturally and economically. This summit focused on the importance of watercourses, rivers, marshlands, and forests.
- Eco Summit 2016, Montpellier, France – the first at this summit were presented concerns about overcrowding, and subsequent possible solutions. Concerns have also been raised about food sufficiency and climate change.
8 – 20 November 2022. The long-awaited UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) for COP 27 (Conference on the Parties) take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
This organization helps raise awareness of the consequences of overpopulation, various environmental problems, as well as climate change. In 1994, up to 194 countries in the world signed an agreement on the protection of the ozone layer. The UNFCCC is constantly striving to bring new research and find solutions to the world’s most serious problems.
